Membership Eligibility
and Requirements
All
households, organizations, and businesses located in the Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania who consume the types of energy services provided by programs
of The Energy Cooperative are eligible to become members.
To become a member, a
household, organization, or business must do both of the following:
-
Enroll for
service in at least one Energy Co-op program.
-
Pay the annual membership dues or request a dues waiver.
We do not require members to do any work as a part of their membership, but
participation as a board member may be possible for those who are
interested. Attendance at our annual membership meeting (or voting by
absentee ballot) is strongly encouraged.
One member = One vote.
One household, organization, or
business/landlord membership covers:
-
A single location signed up for more than one type of service i.e. heating oil and electricity.
-
A single location with multiple electricity accounts or oil tanks.
-
One household membership may include multiple service locations if one
representative is managing the services for multiple locations, such as for a family member at a
different location or a second home.
-
One organization or business/landlord membership may include multiple offices or rental properties if
the services at all locations are managed by the same company/landlord.
A personal residence of an organization or business representative is not covered by the organization or business's membership and does require a separate household membership.
Annual Membership Dues
Households - $15
Organizations - $30
Businesses/Landlords - $30
Dues Waivers
Anyone experiencing financial constraints at the time of enrollment or renewal may
