The Energy Co-op Expands Partnerships with Key Community Groups and Energy Education Activities

November 7, 2018 – Philadelphia, PA – The Energy Cooperative Association of Pennsylvania, (dba The Energy Co-op) is deepening its community imprint by taking part in and coordinating numerous events throughout the state’s Southeastern region.

“Through our member-based business model, we offer residents and businesses clean, renewable, affordable energy resources.  However, we consider it part of our mission to educate not only our members but the public about the impact that energy has on their everyday lives,” said Morgan Pitts, Co-op Marketing and Communications Director.

Pitts was recently a guest lecturer at Penn State. Co-op representatives also took part in the Pennsylvania Utility Commission October “Be Utility Wise” Energy & Human Service Resource Conference and a one-day seminar sponsored the Wharton School of Business Energy Club.

The Energy Co-op has ongoing partnerships with numerous community organizations including the Green Philly Blog, Clean Air Council, and Schuylkill Environmental Education Center among others. .

Other recent activities include:

  • Sponsorship of September’s Greenfest Philly hosted by The Clean Air Council. The event featured dozens of exhibits including solar cooking, a miniature of a water purification plant, games, vegan food and live music.
  • Conducting a “Jeopardy-like” energy game challenge at the Mt. Airy Village Festival, Cook-Wissahickon School and Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll.
