Sustainability Simplified: The Energy Co-op and Green Philly Blog Co-Sponsor How Sustainability Works Event in Old City

January 24, 2019 – Philadelphia, Pa. – The Energy Cooperative Association of Pennsylvania (d.b.a. The Energy Co-op) joined Green Philly Blog on Wednesday, January 23 to co-sponsor “How Sustainability Works,” an informative networking event held at United by Blue in Philadelphia’s Old City neighborhood. Attendees enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and cocktails while presenters gave flash presentations on current topics in sustainability.

Co-op Marketing and Communications Director Morgan Pitts discussed how the clean electricity you purchase gets to your home or business, in How the Grid Works.”

“As pioneers in the renewable energy field, our involvement with this event is part of our ongoing commitment to educate and engage the community on energy issues,” Pitts said. “Energy is a fundamental need in modern society – the Co-op works to help people understand energy, and to buy and use it responsibly.”

Over the past 12 months, The Energy Co-op has worked to expand its education and community engagement programs, providing educational programming to area schools and universities and engaging the public at community events with interactive activities aimed at helping the public better understand how energy works.
